The Claremont

In 2002, WSFSSH collaborated with residents to envision an improved adult residential care community, resulting in the Claremont concept paper. Construction began in 2009 in the Bronx, funded by the city and federal low-income housing tax credits. The Claremont comprises 24 units of family housing to address a local need for affordable housing and 96 units of supportive congregate housing. Opened in December 2010 and April 2011 respectively, the facility serves low-income individuals aged 50 and older, many of whom have experienced homelessness. Services include 24-hour staffing, case management, on-site laundry, and assistance with daily living. Residents enjoy private rooms, a congregate dining program, and community activities.
